• Participate and contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of pro-poor, gender transformative approaches to agriculture and rural development
• Undertake literature reviews, prepare contextual analysis based on the program/project research needs and, maintain reference database.
• Participate in designing and conducting social, economic and gender related studies with the project team as required
• Assist in analysis of program gender data and contribute to writing reports to document learning emerging from the program
• Assist in preparation of program activities including training, field work and workshops to strengthen the capacity of ‘Aquatic Agricultural Systems’ research program, WorldFish and its partners to integrate gender in Research-in-Development
• Publish the results of research

• Master’s degree in Development Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Economics or a related field with a significant focus on gender
• Knowledge in social sciences research methods
• Strong literature review and report writing skills and experience
• Strong qualitative and quantitative social and economic data analysis skills
• Work experience in gender research and analysis will be an added advantage
• Understanding of rural agricultural systems and/or aquaculture
• Strong in statistical software packages for analysis of qualitative and quantitative social and economic data
• Strong in essential computer software/packages like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc
• Willing to do field work in Asia and Africa
• Able to work with minimum supervision
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills, proactive and driven/energetic work attitude
